Four Strings is a Brisbane-based group, but we frequently travel outside Brisbane for performances on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. Travel time and costs are factored into our price lists below. We believe in being transparent with our pricing.
Our minimum booking time in any location is one hour. Additional time is charged in 15minute increments at the “subsequent hour” rate. For example, a 1.5 hour quartet booking in Brisbane would be $1090 + $222 = $1312.
A non-refundable deposit of $200 (subtracted from the total fee) is payable at the time of booking.
If you would like a flute in your quartet, we can substitute a flute player for one of the violins for the same fee.

Please note, as a small business, Four Strings is not registered (and therefore not required) to charge GST. The listed prices are all inclusive.
We pride ourselves on looking after our musicians by paying them fair fees (including superannuation) and hold workers compensation insurance to insure them against on the job related injuries. We say this because by treating our musicians well, we get higher quality performances in return. If you receive a quote that is significantly less than ours, please be aware that the musicians may not be being paid fairly which could result in a subpar performance.

Please note that these prices are for single background music performances (eg. a wedding or party). If you are looking for a string quartet concert performance for an attentive audience, please contact us for a quote.
* Brisbane Metropolitan is counted as any location within 30 minutes travel of the Brisbane CBD. If you are unsure if your event will be within 30 minutes of the CBD use Google Maps to calculate travel times.
